Service. Selection. Conservation.

Like to see our spectacular wholesale inventory of trees? You’ve come to the right place. With more than 300,000 locally-grown palms and desert trees, Links Nursery is the source for Coachella Valley acclimated trees. (Yes, we’ve made some folks envious.)

It’s no secret that growing trees in the desert requires a thorough understanding of the local climate and that most precious of resources, water. As mentioned, we work closely with the Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) to recommend the desert’s most drought tolerant trees – and watering methods. Conserving water, saving you money. Now more than ever, everyone has to think green. It’s a long-term approach that makes the environment and sustainability as important as the product itself. To that end, we all have a shared mission.

Landscape Assets: A Great Investment.

Few items transform a landscape as profoundly as the right trees. For scale, composition and visual interest, trees are the majestic anchor. In short, they’re a tall asset. Many of our trees are specially trimmed to enable and encourage the caliper to grow thick, especially important during the windy season. We also offer a great selection of trees for creating wind breaks and privacy screens. These trees typically break off at the base of the tree, about 12 to 18 in. above the ground. Further, most all our trees stay green year-round.

A Few Ideas to Jumpstart Your Creativity:

Some of the most popular desert trees have been Acacias: Smallii, Palo Blanco and Shoestring. We also offer another Acacia family, a type of “weeping” tree. They’re especially dramatic and impressive at night when properly showcased with uplighting. (See Store product descriptions).

For great low-maintenance landscape trees, try a slow-growing family requiring very little water: featured are Desert Ironwood, Foothill Palo Verde, Texas Ebony and Virginiana Live Oak. As always, we can select a specific tree or trim that meets your parameters. For example, whether it’s a high canopy, medium canopy or simply a low-breaking form tree, we’ll make sure you get exactly what you need.

In the realm of palm trees, our locally-grown, acclimated selection is superb. As you know, the popular Washingtonia Robusta, with a growth rate of two to three ft. annually, is a terrific fast-growing skyline palm. Did you know this tall and slender palm is recommended by the CVWD? Another highly recommended palm is the widely used Washingtonia Filifera. Its thicker trunk and stately presence make it a great landscape focal point, whether as a grouping or a single centerpiece (See Store descriptions).
